The 2025 Zhongman Cup Fencing Open - Beijing Station concluded successfully at CIECC on 2 June. As the first sporting event hosted at the newly opend venue, this competition also marked the first national-level fencing tournament held in Shunyi District, featuring comprehensive upgrades in scale, competitive level, and overall support services.

Leveraging the large-scale, professional facilities of the CIECC, this year's tournament was upgraded for the first time to a Chinese Fencing Association (CFA) Category B certified event. It featured 56 competition categories ranging from U10 to the Open Group, attracting over 3,000 athletes from more than 20 provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, and Shenzhen – setting a new record for participation and fully demonstrating the popularity and competitive vitality of fencing. The officiating system was also enhanced, with a professional team composed of international and national referees. Internationally certified FIE (Fédération Internationale d'Escrime) or CFA-approved seeding and scoring software systems were used throughout to ensure precise and fair judging.

The CIECC provided a solid foundation for the event's success with its first-class facilities and advantageous location. The total competition floor area used this year expanded by 15% compared to the previous edition. Eighty pistes were set up with increased spacing (3 meters), creating favorable conditions for the simultaneous running of multiple categories and efficient event operations. For safety, the venue featured wear-resistant and level emery non-slip flooring, complemented by a 24-hour intelligent monitoring system, comprehensive firefighting facilities, and multi-channel emergency evacuation plans. With coordinated support from local public security, fire services, and medical teams, the event achieved zero safety incidents.

Furthermore, situated within the Beijing Capital International Airport Air Economic Zone just 2 kilometers from the airport and adjacent to Subway Line 15, the CIECC offered efficient transportation options for participants and spectators. The surrounding area boasts over 11 "4-star plus" hotels and commercial complexes like Xiangyun Town, forming a "one-stop" service system encompassing accommodation, dining, and shopping. This not only met the lodging needs of participating teams but also provided post-event leisure and consumption options for spectators, realizing the regional economic linkage of "promoting industry through events and supporting events with industry," creating dual value for participants and local development.

Moving forward, adhering to the principles of "intelligence, sustainability, and human-centric design," the CIECC will use the 2025 Zhongman Cup Fencing Open - Beijing Station as its inaugural event-based functional test. It will actively introduce top-tier domestic and international sporting events, further strengthen the integration of "conventions & exhibitions + sporting events," accumulate operational experience for hosting diverse future projects like entertainment shows and esports competitions, facilitate the deep integration of cultural, commercial, sports, and tourism industries, enhance the level of sporting events in Shunyi District, and contribute significantly to Beijing's goal of becoming an "International City of Events."
