On April 25, the Global Alliance for Trade in Services (abbreviated as GATIS, hereinafter referred to as "the Alliance") convened its inaugural General Assembly and the first meeting of its first Council. The meeting was held in a hybrid online-offline format, during which it reviewed and adopted documents including the GATIS Charter, examined and released the GATIS Initiative, and elected its first Council members, including the Chairman, Vice Chairmen, and Secretary-General (who also serves as Legal Representative). This established the Alliance's governance framework, with Mr. Jiang Zengwei, former President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), elected as the inaugural Chairman.
