On August 28, the exhibition “National Achievements: 80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness” officially opened at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC) in Dong Anh, Hanoi. Due to overwhelming public interest, the exhibition has been extended and will remain open until September 15.
As the opening ceremony of Vietnam Exposition Center and its first major exhibition, the scale of this show is exceptional. It brings together 28 national ministries and central institutions, 34 regional representatives, and over 110 leading enterprises and economic groups from across Vietnam. Spanning approximately 260,000 square meters and featuring more than 230 indoor and outdoor exhibits, the exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of Vietnam’s achievements across nearly 180 sectors over the past eight decades.

During the construction phase of VEC, GL events Live team provided planning and design consulting services, drawing on extensive international experience to ensure the venue met core operational requirements and is optimized for future events.
As the exhibition moved into its planning phase, the team provided end-to-end project support—from initial development through on-site execution—to address the highly complex demands of this national event. Specialists were dispatched to offer professional design and management advice to the 34 Vietnamese provinces and ministerial agencies, covering layout planning, booth design optimization, exhibitor service coordination, personnel and traffic flow arrangement, and construction safety management, thereby ensuring efficient and seamless exhibition preparation and execution.
Furthermore, the team created a dignified yet engaging atmosphere for this national celebration through visual storytelling, spatial design, and brand communication. The central theme, “For the People, For the World,” served as the creative foundation, with installations artistically reflecting Vietnam’s past, present, and future. These elements not only served as visual highlights but also stood as vivid symbols of the country’s cultural confidence and national image.
Meanwhile, the GL events Live team developed customized booth solutions for multiple exhibitors. Each exhibit was tailored to reflect the institution’s unique characteristics and milestones, balancing functionality, cultural relevance, and visual impact. For instance, the team designed an anniversary booth for the State Bank of Vietnam that featured creative storytelling and interactive media. Through a digital and immersive format, it presented the bank’s history and social contributions, enhancing public engagement and reinforcing its image as a stable and innovative financial institution.
Vietnam, one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic economies (with Q2 GDP growth reaching 7.96%), is rapidly emerging as a hotspot for the international MICE industry due to its economic vitality, open policies, and cultural appeal. As the largest convention and exhibition complex in Southeast Asia to date, the launch of the VEC marks a new chapter in Vietnam’s standing in the global MICE industry.
